Sept 5: Mtg: Virtual and Augmented Reality

Join AppRochester co-founder Steve Maier and RIT Students as they discuss VR and AR. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are becoming more popular in many different industries. The obvious one that many people think about is gaming, but 3D design and other use cases are also quite interesting. We are going to be covering many different types of VR/AR so that you are familiar with them and could pick what technology would be a good fit for your next project.

CANCELED: May 2nd – mtg

Our May meeting has been canceled. The room was double-booked, and enrollment was low, likely because of another interesting event at the same time. So, I encourage you to visit my employer, CloudCheckr, in the Village Gate, to attend the AWS Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Rochester-AWS-Users-Group/events/238240089/

Our MARCH meeting will be March 7th from 6pm to 8:30pm at RIT!  Please RSVP so we can order enough food. Peter Traeg will discuss AMP – Accelerated Mobile Pages.  This is an open source project spearheaded by Google to greatly speed up the way web pages load on mobile devices.   AMP pages are integrated in Google Search and Twitter so that these faster loading pages are presented on mobile devices.  For some use cases the high performance of these AMP pages may make them an viable alternative to a typical mobile app.
