April 1st Meeting – continue with Hackathon project(s)

Nov mtg: Nov 12th (SECOND Tuesday): LiveCode cross platform development

There’s another election the first Tuesday in November, and since RIT’s Center for Innovation is used for election coverage, we need to move our meeting to the following Tuesday.

Rick Harrison is still okay to present his talk on cross platform development with the open source Live Code, on the 12th.

Sept mtg – Raspberry Pi

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, September 3rd, featuring our own Scott Pellegrino, discussing Raspberry Pi, the tiny computer taking the maker/hacker community by storm.

The Raspberry Pi is a low-cost credit card-sized computer developed in the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation.  It was created specifically with the intention of aiding the teaching of basic computer science in schools.  However, not only can you use it for education, a vibrant community of “MAKER”s has sprung up using the Raspberry Pi to do some really fun stuff, everything from growing tomatoes to brewing beer. Scott will go over- The hardware- basic installation and set up- what the Raspberry Pi is and what it is not- and last but not least Demos!!
